What happens in a 60-minute MEV session

Every session follows a structured format — not just "help with homework." Each 60 minutes has a clear purpose, a clear output, and a clear connection to the next session.

0–10 min

Review

Tutor checks the previous session's homework or practice questions. Identifies any errors and explains why they happened before moving on.

10–35 min

New concept or topic

Tutor teaches the planned topic — explanation, worked examples, and guided questions. Student works problems with support, not just watches.

35–50 min

Exam practice

Student attempts past paper questions on the topic — timed and under exam conditions. Tutor marks using the official mark scheme and explains every mark gained or lost.

50–60 min

Summary & homework

Tutor summarises what was covered, confirms what the student understood, and sets specific independent practice before the next session.

What parents usually ask

What if my child doesn't connect with the tutor?

We offer a tutor replacement guarantee. If after the trial session or early sessions the fit isn't right — personality, teaching pace, or communication style — we rematch your child at no cost and no delay.

Can we reschedule a session?

Yes. We ask for at least 24 hours notice to reschedule. Sessions rescheduled with less than 24 hours notice may not be recoverable within the same billing month, depending on tutor availability.

How long before exams should we start?

For IGCSE and IB, we recommend starting at least 3–4 months before the exam window. For SAT, our 7-Week Intensive starts 7 weeks before the test date. The earlier the start, the more time to build technique — not just cover content.

What platform do sessions run on?

Zoom or Google Meet — whichever your family prefers. Sessions work on any device: laptop, tablet, or iPad. No special software needed beyond a browser. We recommend a stable internet connection and a quiet space.

Is MEV available in my country?

Yes. MEV sessions are fully online and available to students in any country. We currently serve families in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, the UK, and beyond. Time zones are coordinated at booking.

Do parents join the session?

Sessions are 1-on-1 between the tutor and student. Parents are welcome to observe the trial session. For ongoing sessions, we recommend students engage independently — the lesson report keeps parents fully informed after every session.
